New Scientific Software Installed on the HSE Supercomputer

The digital unit installed on the HSE computing cluster a number of specialized software required by scientific departments.

1. For users from the International Laboratory of Statistical and Computational Genomics, BEAST, BEAST 2, and IQ-TREE Bayesian molecular sequence analysis software were installed to implement the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus philodynamics research project.

2. A software package for solving engineering and mathematical problems of MATLAB was installed for the Center for Language and Brain as part of the project on lateralization of the speech tracts in the brain.

3. At the request of MIEM, an advanced commercial package of Intel Parallel Studio XE 2020 compilers, optimizers and debuggers was installed, which can significantly increase the performance of parallel applications.

4. For the International Laboratory for Statistical and Computational Genomics, the GNU Scientific Library, SAMtools, ANGSD and HTSlib utilities for processing sequences of sequenced DNA were assembled.

5. At the request of users of the International Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics, the FFTW library was assembled for computing discrete Fourier transforms.

Requests from scientific departments to install new software are accepted through the supercomputer user support system.
